Terms
1. Scope, provider, conclusion of contract
These terms govern the use of Mail4Free.net ("the service"), a free disposable email service. The provider is the operator named in the legal notice. The contract is concluded as soon as you use the service (e.g. retrieve an address) or register. By using the service you agree to these terms. Conflicting terms of users do not apply.
The service is intended for persons aged 16 or older. Younger persons may use it only with the consent of their legal guardians.
2. Description of service
The service provides temporary and (for registered users) permanent email addresses for receiving emails, including optional extras such as a spam score, tracking-pixel protection, Telegram/Discord notifications, and time-limited forwarding. The service is receive-only - sending emails through Mail4Free.net is not provided and not part of the service.
Use of the service is completely free. There is no entitlement to any particular feature, availability, or retention period - in particular, temporary addresses expire automatically by design (see FAQ) and are irrevocably deleted together with all their emails. We cannot guarantee that third parties accept or deliver emails to disposable addresses; some providers block disposable domains.
3. Important notes on use
- Temporary addresses are not password-protected: anyone who knows or guesses the address can open the mailbox and read the emails. Do not use them for sensitive or confidential content.
- Do not use the service for important accounts or contracts (e.g. banks, authorities, insurance, tax, employers, payment providers, cloud storage, domains) where you later depend on notifications, password resets or proof. Addresses can expire and may subsequently be used by other people.
- We do not create backups of your emails and cannot restore deleted or expired content. Save important content yourself in good time (e.g. via export or PDF).
4. Registration and account
Registration is voluntary and only required if you want to store aliases permanently (alias vault) or set up forwarding or notifications. You must provide your own valid email address when registering. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, should choose a strong password used only here, and must inform us without delay if you suspect misuse of your account. You can change your password at any time in the dashboard and delete your account at any time via the dashboard.
5. User obligations, prohibited use
You agree not to use the service for unlawful or abusive purposes, in particular not for:
- fraud, phishing, identity theft, distributing or receiving unlawful content (e.g. child sexual abuse material, incitement to hatred, depictions of violence, copyright infringement) or other criminal or regulatory offences;
- circumventing third parties' registration, verification, age or ban mechanisms for abusive purposes (e.g. multiple accounts to obtain unfair advantages, ban evasion);
- harassment, spam, threats or harm to other persons;
- automated bulk requests (scraping, brute force), attacks on the service, or circumventing technical protection measures and rate limits;
- any act that impairs, harms or endangers the operation of the service, other users or third parties.
We must not provide the service for criminal acts and, in case of reasonable suspicion, cooperate with authorities within the limits of the law. You indemnify us against claims by third parties arising from unlawful use of the service for which you are responsible, including reasonable legal costs; statutory claims remain unaffected.
6. Third-party content, reporting unlawful content
The service automatically receives emails from third parties. We do not adopt this content as our own, do not review it in advance and do not read it. You can report unlawful content or abuse (e.g. use of an address for spam or phishing) at any time to the email address given in the legal notice. Please name the affected address, describe the violation and briefly explain why the content is unlawful. We review reports promptly and block or delete content, addresses or accounts where necessary.
7. Suspension and deletion
In case of violations of these terms, suspected abuse, or where we are legally obliged to do so, we may suspend or delete aliases, content or accounts without prior notice and restrict access to the service. We take the interests of those involved into reasonable account. There is no entitlement to restoration of suspended or deleted content.
8. Advertising, donations and third-party services
Advertising: We may display labelled advertising on the website. The operators of the advertised sites are solely responsible for their content, offers and data protection.
Donations: Donations are voluntary, give no entitlement to consideration, particular features or a refund and - unless we expressly state otherwise - are not certified as tax-deductible donations.
Third-party services: If you forward emails to your own address or use Telegram or Discord, the terms and privacy policies of those providers also apply. We are not responsible for their services.
9. Availability, changes and discontinuation
As the service is offered free of charge, we give no warranty for any particular availability, response time or freedom from errors. Maintenance, technical faults or outages of upstream services (e.g. the hosting provider, the mail server, Telegram, Discord) may temporarily restrict use. We may change or restrict features at any time or discontinue the service in whole or in part. In case of final discontinuation we will - where reasonable - inform registered users in advance so they can export their content.
10. Liability
Mail4Free.net is a technical intermediary service with no influence on third-party content received or forwarded through the service.
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, for fraudulently concealed defects, for assumed guarantees and under the Product Liability Act. Claims under Art. 82 GDPR remain unaffected.
In case of simple negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes proper use of the service possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely), and then limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise liability for simple negligence is excluded. This applies in particular to:
- late, undelivered, incomplete, faulty or incorrectly displayed emails - regardless of whether the cause lies with the service, the original sender, intermediate mail servers or third-party services;
- loss of emails due to expiry of a temporary address, technical faults or force majeure;
- damage caused by the content of received emails (e.g. phishing, malware in attachments - despite tracking-pixel protection, complete security is not guaranteed);
- the availability, accuracy or security of third-party services you connect yourself (forwarding address, Telegram, Discord), and damage resulting from third parties accessing an address that is not password-protected.
Where liability is excluded or limited, this also applies to the personal liability of our employees, representatives and vicarious agents.
11. Term and termination
Use without an account can be ended at any time by simply no longer using the service. Registered users can delete their account at any time via the dashboard. We may terminate accounts with 14 days' notice in text form; the right to immediate suspension or termination for good cause, in particular for violations of section 5, remains unaffected.
12. Data protection
Information on the processing of personal data can be found in the privacy policy.
13. Intellectual property
Software, design, texts, name and logo of the service are protected by copyright and trademark law. You receive a simple, non-transferable right to use the service within these terms; any further use, reproduction or distribution requires our consent. Rights in the emails you receive remain with the respective rights holders.
14. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms with effect for the future where this becomes necessary for legal, technical or operational reasons and does not unreasonably disadvantage you. The current version is available on this page. We inform registered users of material changes in advance by email or in the dashboard; if they disagree they can delete their account.
15. Governing law, dispute resolution, language
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers habitually resident in another state, mandatory consumer protection provisions of that state remain unaffected. If the user is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is the operator's registered seat. Information on dispute resolution can be found in the legal notice.
The German version of these terms is legally binding; translations are for information only.
16. Final provisions
Should a provision of these terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected; the statutory rule replaces the invalid provision. Version: October 2026.
